Open all links 0.2

October 24th, 2006

The 0.2 release of my Thunderbird extension “Open all links” is awaiting approval at the Mozilla Add-ons site. Beside a bug fix, I added the possibility to exclude certain links based on a regular expression.

People who submit their spam in batch to Spamcop (with the Okopipi Thunderbird extension) can use the following pattern: ^http://www\.spamcop\.net/upgradeaccount\.shtml$ Using a Spamcop bookmarklet or greasemonkey script afterwards can save you even more time.

You can already try the non-approved xpi installer of Open all links 0.2.

I’d like to know what you are using the extension for, so please drop a comment if you’re using it. Thanks!

    Hello,

I was using version 0.1 with no problems… Thunderbird automatically updated the extension to version 0.2 and now it no longer works.

I tried downloading the version form here and it still does not work with Thunderbird. If I uninstall the extension and re-install version 0.1, all is well… until Thunderbird automatically updates the extension again.

Anyone else having this kind of issue with 0.2?

An option to set a delay between opening links would be nice. If I have lots of links in one email, spamming 20-30 new tabs at once will significantly increase the stress on my computer. So if I would be able to set a delay between each link opening that would give time to my browser to load a page (at least partial) before going to the next one.

    Hi
I’m having the same problem as William. Only I first discovered this extension a couple of days ago, so I started out with 0.2.
When I choose open all links in the right click menu, nothing happens, I’ve tried both with firefox running and not.
I’ve also tried uninstalling 0.2 and installing 0.1, but then I don’t even get an open all links option in the right click menu.
I’m running Thunderbird version 1.5.0.9 (20061207), localized to Denmark, on a fully updated danish win XP pro system. I’ve got the talkback and Okopipi extensions installed as well, and no other extensions.

Version 0.2 does not work! The right click entry appears but has no effect. Version 0.1 does not work either, here the right click entry does not appear at all. :-(
I am using TB 1.5.0.7 and FF 2.0.

I have been busy with a lot of other stuff and didn’t have the time to take a look at this issue. I found the problem and will release a new version soon.

Until the release of the new version, you can use this workaround:

Set the preference value of extensions.openalllinks.exclude to a boolean (anything but a string) or a valid reg ex pattern string that doesn’t match all links (for example the one I mentioned in this blog article).

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    There’s a new version released:
    0.3.

Instead of an exclusion filter, please add a whitelist feature to
this extension. Only links to whitelisted domains should be opened.
This would then open e.g. only urls contaning spamcop.net domain.
    Thanks
