Introducing Okopipi and ODRI networks
June 4th, 2006
Already heard of the Okopipi project? Well, now you did
Okopipi is the successor to the Blue Frog anti-spam tool. It will be based on a P2P network and it will not depend on a centralized server, so it won’t be as sensitive to DDoS attacks as Blue Frog was.
On the Okopipi-dev google group an interesting paper about ODRI networks was introduced. ODRI stands for Optimal Diameter Routing Infrastructure and is based on de Bruijn graphs. Because the paper is quite theoretically I decided to code a simulation of a de Bruijn graph. After a cleanup I will release the source code under the GPL.
The okopipi project is still looking for developers with experience in P2P systems. If you’re interested, please join Okopipi-dev and introduce yourself.
